22nd to 28th May 2023 - Diabetes Prevention Week

Type 2 diabetes is preventable and there are things that you can do to prevent it. May 22nd to May 28th is Diabetes prevention week and the NHS is running the Healthier You programme to try and reduce the risk of type 2 Diabetes. World Hepatitis Day (WHD) brings the world together to raise awareness of the global burden of viral hepatitis and to influence real change in disease prevention and access to testing, treatment and care. One of just four disease-specific global awareness days officially endorsed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), WHD unites patient organisations, governments and the general public to boost the global profile of viral hepatitis.
1st - 7th July 2019 - Health Information Week
Health Information Week is a campaign to improve access to health information. Staff from local authorities, public libraries, NHS, voluntary sector, independent information and advice centres have all been working together to make their health resources more available to the public. 
1st - 30th June 2019 - Scleroderma Awareness Month
Scleroderma is a rare, chronic disease of the immune system, blood vessels and connective tissue. 2.5 million people worldwide have scleroderma, and in the UK there are 12,000 people diagnosed. Put June in your diary and get involved in Scleroderma Awareness Month.
1st - 30th June 2019 - MND Awareness Month
Motor Neuron Disease describes a group of diseases that affect the nerves (motor neurones) in the brain and spinal cord that tell your muscles what to do. With MND, messages from these nerves gradually stop reaching the muscles, leading them to weaken, stiffen and waste.
1-30 June 2019 - Carers Week
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring by highlighting the challenges that carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. The campaign encourages others to organise activities and events throughout the UK. You can get involved by pledging your support, and remember to get involved with @carersweek. National Clean Air Day is a chance for the whole country to come together and improve air quality through collective action.
17th - 23rd June 2019 - Breathe Easy Week
Breathe Easy week is an awareness event run by the British Lung Foundation in order to raise awareness of lung conditions and help to fund research, support and campaigning work. 
10th - 16th June 2019 - Cervical Screening Awareness Week
Cervical Screening Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of the importance of cervical screening, and encourages women to get checked.

Diabetes Week is an annual highlight in the Diabetes UK calendar, as it's a time when supporters are brought together to raise awareness of the condition and the vital funds required for future work.

Led by the Men's Health Forum, the purpose of Men’s Health Week is to raise awareness of preventable health issues and encourage men and boys to seek professional advice for health-related problems. 
14th June - World Blood Donor Day
World Blood Donor Day raises awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. 
10th to 14th June - BNF Healthy Eating Week
British Nutritional Foundation (BNF) Healthy Eating Week. Have Breakfast; Have 5 A Day; Drink plenty; Get active; and try something new. 
7th June 2019 - Wear Purple for JIA
National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society is delighted to announce that the #WearPurpleForJIA 2018campaign has chosen to support NRAS again as their charity for the year. Friday 9th June will be a day awash with Purple everywhere and a great day to get young and old involved at home, school or work. Encourage friends and family to wear something purple, from socks to hats, and everything else in between!
